Why do I need to keep my vaccines cool?

Your vaccines are a large financial investment, and inappropriate storage and handling puts them at risk of being useless. Any fluctuation out of the normal manufacturer-recommended temperature range can impact potency. Furthermore, a single exposure to freezing temperatures (32°F or colder) can completely destroy potency.

In addition to decreased potency, freezing can also increase the risk for adverse vaccine reactions. Vaccines that gets too warm or too cold should not be used, because it may not work or it may have adverse effects that you don’t want.
